Sustainable event planning starts with mobility: From 1 May 2025, the new Guest Mobility Ticket offers your participants an eco-friendly and convenient way to travel throughout the province of Salzburg free of charge using public transportation – stress-free, sustainable, and future-oriented.

From arrival and departure to the choice of venue and accommodation, energy and water usage, procurement and waste management, and catering – all of these aspects are key to planning a green event.

But sustainability also means social responsibility. That’s why special attention is paid to inclusion and equal opportunities – ensuring that disadvantaged individuals are offered the same optimal conditions for a successful event experience.

Austria’s Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport, together with the nine federal states, has established the Green Events Austria Network, which provides targeted support and advice to the event industry.

The Salzburg Convention Bureau supports initiatives and projects focusing on green meetings, sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Event organisers who prioritise climate protection and social impact will find Salzburg to be the ideal destination.
