2024 will be another successful year for Salzburg as a TOP destination for congresses!

With its cultural heritage, its location in the heart of Europe and its many professional event locations, Salzburg is one of the world's leading conference destinations. Numerous conference venues - from congress centers to universities - invite you to international congresses, seminars and events. Well over 3,000 events with a total of around 200,000 participants take place here every year. Numerous International and European congresses are already planned for 2024 and the trend towards Salzburg as a TOP congress location continues.

Below you will find a selection of international events that have already taken place or will take place in Salzburg in 2024:

• International Electronics Recycling Congress IERC 2024
  The congress for the circular economy for electronics took place at the Salzburg Congress from January 17^th - 19^th, 2024. The congress is the leading event in this sector worldwide and brought together around 500 international experts. With 60 stands, the congress offered the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas in the global electronics recycling business.
   
• 25th International Congress on Curative Education
  The Salzburg University of Education Stefan Zweig have invited to an international congress from May 24^th - 25^th, 2024 with several main topics on working with adolescents. The following topics were included and had been on the agenda in Salzburg:
  • Half-truths and fake news: How misunderstanding is promoted on the internet - and how to respond to it
  • Linguistic/cultural challenges and opportunities of multiculturalism
  • Changes in growing up and growing up in the digital world
  • Parental smartphone use - effects on the relationship and interaction with young children
     
• ICCBH – 11th International Conference on Children’s Bone Health
  This conference had brought together scientists, clinicians, trainees, healthcare professionals and others from a broad spectrum from June 22^nd - 25^th, 2024 in Salzburg Congress. Participants have gained a better understanding of the growing skeleton in the context of childhood health and disease as well discussed the latest developments in clinical outcomes, new therapies and genetic discoveries.
   
• Engineering Days 2024
  The Engineering Days will take place at the Salzburg Congress from November 26^th – 27^th, 2024. The event serves as a discussion platform for precast concrete specialists. It brings together international operators of precast concrete plants and technology leaders in the industry. The latest findings and trends from the fields of innovation and technology will be shared and knowledge in the digitalization and innovation of the precast industry will be discussed in various workshops.

• Interventional Radiology Olbert Symposium IROS 2024
  The three-country conference of the German, Austrian and Swiss societies for interventional radiology (DeGIR, ÖGIR & SSVIR) is the largest event in the industry in German-speaking countries and took place in Salzburg from January 11^th - 13^th, 2024. The target group of the conference included interventional radiologists, medical students, technicians and other professionals working in the field of healthcare who are interested in further training in minimally invasive treatment methods.
   
• MCE Central & Eastern Europe Forum 2024
  Salzburg was once again the host for an Europe Congress Forum from February 4^th to 6^th. After successfully holding the very first Events Club Associations Forum in Salzburg last year and welcoming numerous representatives of international associations to Salzburg, we were able to bring another forum to Salzburg in 2024. With around 250 participants from all over Europe, the largest MCE Central & Eastern Europe Forum ever organized by Europe Congress was a complete success.
   
• 1st TENET COST Action General Meeting & Conference
  New findings in tendon research were the focus of the 1st conference of more than 60 experts at the PMU (Paracelsus Medical University) from 11^st - 12^nd, March 2024. Experts in the field of tendon research from a total of 12 European nations came together to create a network for pooling scientific and industrial expertise.
   
• RENESPO INTERHYDRO 2024
  The European meeting point for the hydropower industry acts as a hub between Eastern and Western Europe. At the Salzburg Exhibition Center on 21^st - 22^nd March, experts clearly demonstrated the contribution that hydropower can make to a climate-neutral energy supply.
   
• 34th European Notary Days
  With this year’s motto "Europe's Digital Decade - Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation", interested professional colleagues from all over Europe were invited by Austrian notaries to discuss this specialist topic. From April 18^th – 19^th the Salzburg Congress was all about notaries.
   
• Large foundry technology conference 2024 (Große Gießertechnische Tagung 2024)
  Salzburg was the center of the foundry world from April 25^th -26^th, 2024. This conference was an important forum for foundrymen, casting users and the supply industry to exchange information and experience in this sector. The latest products and services were presented at a trade exhibition.
   
• 63. DAH Symposium 2024
  The symposium of the German-speaking Working Group for Hand Surgery will take place in Salzburg from May 2^nd to 4^th, 2024. An important focus of the symposium will be on "Acute ligament injuries and chronic instabilities of the wrist and hand". Andrea Atzei, one of the speakers, will provide insights into the latest developments and state-of-the-art techniques in this field.
   
• 9th European Conference on Religion, Spirituality and Health
  The conference had been taken place as a hybrid event from May 16^th to 18^th, 2024 at the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) Salzburg.The main topic was “Spiritual Care Interventions”. What interventions have been established and what do we know about their benefit for patients. European and international keynote speakers from a variety of disciplines and professional backgrounds have presented their results and experiences.
   
• EL Industry Day 2024
  The European Lotteries have invited to the 12th edition of the Congress of European Lotteries, which took place in Salzburg from June 16^th – 19^th, 2024. An exciting program were available to the participants and the city of Mozart were shown from its best side in culinary and architectural terms.
   
• European Health Forum Gastein - EHFG 2024
  The European Health Forum Gastein has been inviting people to a dialog on health and politics for more than 20 years. It is one of the most important platforms for health policy exchange. The topics for 2024 have not yet been made public. Make a note of the date now and take part from September 24^th – 27^th, 2024 at the Kongresshaus Bad Hofgastein.
   
• 47th trilateral meeting of ÖGUM / DEGUM / SGUM
  Over the last few decades, the “Dreiländertreffen” has established itself as the most important multidisciplinary ultrasound meeting in the German-speaking countries. The focus is on interdisciplinary sessions and will take place this year from October 02^nd – 04^th, 2024 in Salzburg.
   
• 73rd Geomechanics Colloquium 2024 (Hybrid)
  The annual Geomechanics Colloquium has developed into the meeting place for experts in Central Europe. The event and exhibition attracts over 900 participants, making it one of the largest annual events in the field of geomechanics worldwide. The colloquium will take place from 10^th – 12^th October 2024 at the Salzburg Congress.
   
• 20. Salzburg Europe Summit
  Networking people. Promoting dialog. Strengthening regions. From October 20^th to 22^nd, 2024, international experts will discuss current European topics. Participants include internationally recognized experts and decision-makers from politics, business and science from Germany and abroad.

• 1st International iFIT Conference (Image-Guided and Functionally Instructed Tumor Therapies)
  Over 200 participants from 20 different countries, attended the first conference for "Image-Guided and Functionally Instructed Tumor Therapies" (IFIT), which took place from 21st - 23rd of March 2023 at the Ferry Porsche Congress Center Zell am See. Networking was at the top of the agenda to gain new insights into science and exchange ideas to discuss new opportunities in the field. The poster sessions were as well an important part of the conference to get the current state of research around the topic "Cancer". • 15. ISRM (Congress of the International Society for Rock Mechanics & 72nd Geomechanics Colloquium)
  The International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) was founded in Salzburg in 1962. Since 1951, the society has organised the Geomechanics Colloquium for researchers and practitioners. This year from 09th - 14th, October, up to 1000 participants are expected at the Salzburg Congress, while – for the first time and in parallel – the international ISRM Congress 2023 is to be held in Salzburg.
   
• IDW (International Data Week)
  The International Data Week 2023 festival at Salzburg Congress (23rd - 26th, October) is to bring together international data and information technology experts, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and policy makers. The event focuses on how digitalisation can play a positive role in the transformation of the world as it faces today’s global challenges.
   
• 18. European Molecular Imaging Meeting (EMIM)
  From March 14th - 17th, 2023, the meeting was held in the heart of Salzburg at Mirabell garten. The focus was on quantification in molecular imaging, cellular imaging, x-ray/lung imaging, neuroimaging, and hyperpolarized MRI. With around 600 European participants, it was an event to look back with pleasure.
   
• OSTEOLOGIE 2023 specialist congress of the DVO (osteology umbrella organisation)
  Up to 1000 visitors from the fields of research and medical practice are expected at the Salzburg Congress venue (22nd - 24th, June) for the annual specialist congress in the early summer of 2023. This edition is to feature current developments in osteology, with particular emphasis placed on osteoporosis.
