A concert hall for your conference
The Great Hall is the space for large concerts and corporate meetings in Salzburg, combining the most modern technology and an impressive historic ambience. Excellent acoustics can be experienced on any of the 797 fixed seats on the stalls and gallery of the Great Hall.
Elegant dinner events for up to 100 guests or smaller meetings should be placed in the Viennese hall with its ceiling-high windows to the gardens of the premises. Coffee Breaks or stand up buffets should be placed to the foyer areas which provide ample space, also for exhibitions and sponsors.
The Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation
The Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation, built between 1911 and 1914 in the late historicist style, is located on Schwarzstraße. It is the foundation's largest event space and its crown jewel.
With its outstanding acoustics, the hall provides unparalleled musical experiences—from solo recitals to grand orchestral concerts for up to 776 guests. It serves as one of the main venues for the Salzburg Festival’s concert series, including the renowned Mozart Matinees.
The opulent ambiance adds a festive and exclusive character to events beyond concerts, such as corporate functions, product launches, or shareholder meetings. Dinners and gala events for up to 200 guests are also possible. Two adjoining foyers - modern und just recently built - (the City Foyer and the Grand Foyer) enhance the concert hall with attractive catering areas.
Renovated and modernized between 2020 and 2022, the Great Hall now shines in a new light. Its foyers’ architecture was honored in 2023 with the Austrian State Prize for exemplary revitalization and modernization of a cultural institution.
The Viennese Hall: A Space for Special Events
The Viennese Hall, designed in Munich’s Jugendstil and Heimatstil styles, is one of Salzburg’s most beautiful event spaces and is located in the main building of the Mozarteum Foundation on Schwarzstraße.
The hall was named after the Viennese Mozart Society, which financed the design of the chamber music hall, including its organ. Its exclusive atmosphere is ideal for chamber concerts and creates a unique setting for festive dinners and smaller scale events. The space accommodates up to 200 concertgoers or 90 dinner guests.
The adjacent Bastion Garden and the newly completed Grand Foyer in 2022 offer additional opportunities for unique events in a central location.
Villa Vicina: Intimate Settings for Memorable Moments
Since 2020, the Mozarteum Foundation has operated Villa Vicina (“neighboring manor”) as a new event venue. The event hall features arena style seating, allowing audiences to experience performances up close and personally. This intimate atmosphere makes it particularly well suited for readings, workshops, and chamber music.
The concert room includes an adjacent foyer with a bar area, both located in the building’s lower ground floor. During summer or fair weather, the courtyard can be used for breaks and standing receptions, making Villa Vicina a truly special venue.
