Old Town Campus

The Altstadt Campus of the University of Salzburg is situated in the heart of Salzburg's Old Town. It houses three of the four faculties of Paris Lodron University. One of them is the Catholic Theological Faculty, which is the oldest faculty of the University of Salzburg. In the middle of the Salzburg Festival District, the premises of the Faculty of Catholic Theology offer the ideal location for courses, but also seminars, congresses and events.

Close to the Catholic Theological Faculty in the direction of Salzburg Cathedral is the Law Faculty of the University of Salzburg. Situated at the Toskanatrakt, in a building of the famous Salzburg Residence. Both wings of the faculty are set around the courtyard of the Toskanatrakt of the Residence, with the picturesque Renaissance garden called Dietrichsruh.

Furthermore, a part of the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences is located in the Old Residence and the Wallistrakt in Salzburg's Old Town. The main building of the faculty is the modern Unipark Nonntal, another part is located at Rudolfskai. The Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences is the largest faculty of the University of Salzburg and houses 12 departments with over 30 academic branches.

The Ceremonial Rooms of the Old Town Campus, University of Salzburg

In addition to the classic seminar rooms and lecture halls, the Altstadt Campus of Paris Lodron University Salzburg features impressive state rooms. You may also rent these rooms for meetings, seminars and congresses.

Max Gandolph Library

The Max Gandolph Library is a part of the Faculty of Law and offers a breathtaking view of Salzburg's Residenzplatz. The room is truly unique as a venue for stylish exhibitions, receptions, seminars or corporate events and can accommodate up to 100-150 people in a concert seating arrangement.

Leopold-Kohr Lecture Hall/ Wallistrakt/ Dombögen

Leopold Kohr Lecture Hall is located in the Wallistrakt of the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, named in memory of the famous philosopher and economist Leopold Kohr. The auditorium is distinguished by an antique flair with beautiful wooden beams. With 130 seats and 2 wheelchair spaces in fixed seating, the lecture hall is ideal for events, seminars and more. In addition, the seminar room with 32 variable seats and the 50m² foyer in front of the lecture hall can be used for caterings, receptions and presentations.

Great University Hall

For stage-oriented events, presentations and lectures is the Great University Hall well suited, being located in the middle of the festival district in the city of Salzburg. The auditorium has approximately 600 padded seats, about 500 of which are fixed to the grandstand. The two foyers that are part of the Mozart Auditorium can also be used for exhibitions and press conferences.

Library Hall

Adjacent to the main library of the University of Salzburg and next to the Great University Hall is the Library Hall. It can hold 100 people with concert seating for events such as lectures & conferences. The Library Hall is also well equipped with a PC, projector, screen, sound system, tables and a lectern.

Senate Meeting Room

The Senate Meeting Room is a part of the Faculty of Law and is found in a separate university building at Kapitelgasse 4. Measuring a good 120m², the Senate Meeting Room provides seating for 42 people at the oval table. Together with the adjacent foyer, the hall is ideal for events & conferences.

Sala Terrana

The Sala Terrana, like the Senate Meeting Room, belongs to the Faculty of Law and is considered to be a special jewel among the building's facilities. The nine-meter-high passage hall impresses with its magnificent stucco ceiling and mighty marble columns. The Sala Terrana is suitable for exhibitions with a unique atmosphere.

Edmundsburg

In a graceful location on the Mönchsberg hill is another building of the University of Salzburg: the Edmundsburg. Staff members of all three faculties of the Old Town Campus conduct their research in this study center. The 2nd floor of the residence, the so-called Belétage, offers space for a total of 150 people - 121 people in the Europe Hall with cinema seating and 48 people in the conference room. A sophisticated foyer of the Belétage welcomes guests for a classy cocktail. The garden terrace of the Edmungsburg, which is about 750 square meters in size and situated in a dreamlike location above the roofs of the Festival Hall, offers space for unique receptions and corporate celebrations.

In addition, the three faculties at the Old Town Campus Salzburg can offer a further capacity of 19 lecture halls and 16 seminar rooms.
