You will find an incomparable atmosphere in the prince-archbishop's rooms of the Residence zu Salzburg. Unique in its significance and staged by the best architects and craftsmen of their time.

Highlights of the premises

• Carabinierisaal: Celebrations, receptions and acts of honor have been held here since the Baroque era. It was a symbol of power and also the venue for the first opera performance north of the Alps. The 640 m² room offers space for up to 500 people and impresses with ceiling frescoes by the important Austrian Baroque painter Johann Michael Rottmayr.
• Knights' Hall: It got its name from the Prince Archbishop's bodyguard. Part of the fresco cycle on the life of Alexander the Great by Johann Michael Rottmayr can be found on the ceiling.
• Conference room: This is where the "high princely secret council" of the prince archbishops met and where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played his first court concert in Salzburg.
• Inner courtyard and arcades: With its impressive arcades, the over 1000 m² inner courtyard offers a festive atmosphere and numerous opportunities for successful events. The imposing Hercules Fountain completes the impressive sight.
