Special guided tour of Mozart's letters in the autograph vault in Mozart's residence.

The autograph collection in the basement of Mozart's residence has been one of the most valuable possessions of the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg since the middle of the 19th century.

Paper was an expensive commodity during Mozart's lifetime. Mozart's father Leopold always attached great importance to letter writing, which he also taught his son. There is nothing that Mozart did not put on paper from a young age. It is thanks to his feelings, impressions, arguments, experiences, travel reports, his anger and his love of music, around 300 goood preserved letters, that are behind the musical genius Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart we also remember today the eloquent, direct and humorous Mozart!

Now, as your planning for your journey through Salzburg, let Mozart's letters pay a visit and take part in his emotional world, which will bring you closer to Salzburg in a very special way! At the end, you can buy a Mozartkugel at the confectionery Fürst on Mirabellplatz - there can only be one original!
